The Department of Visual and Applied Arts of the University of Western Macedonia organizes and operates a Doctoral Studies Program in Greek and English, according to the provisions of Law 4485/2022 and the relevant provisions and decisions. The duration of the program, the admission and acceptance of doctoral candidates as well as the awarding of credit units are provided by the Study Regulations (SC).
Doctoral Studies (PhD) aim to prepare and highlight new researchers who have the ability to advance scientific knowledge and art, with autonomous production of research results in the cognitive areas of the arts as well as at the interface of the arts with other scientific areas.
The Department of Visual and Applied Arts of the School of Fine Arts, P.D.M. also offers PhDs in artistic research.
In order to complete the PDS, students need to accumulate a total of 180 ECTS including courses. The same regulation of the Phd applies.
